Social

The Social exhibition was held at The University College of the Cariboo (UCC, now Thompson Rivers University) in the Fall of 2001.  A series of large scale maquettes, utilizing such diverse materials as wood chips, hydro conductors, insulation and video, the Social pieces commented on aspects of social dynamics.  Themes included genetic manipulation, cultural ideology, terrorism, displaced peoples, personal memory and collective history.  Opening night had people enter the gallery by stepping over a body (student) lying in the doorway, a reference to both the plight of the homeless and the disregard for increasing student debt.
