Symposium

These images cover work executed during 3 symposia:  Saskatoon, Sask. (1989) and Westbank, BC (2003, 2004).  Saskatoon was a group project constructed on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River using 100 tonnes of Tyndal limestone.  The effort was accomplished through collective consensus.  Westbank, 2003, was an individual work, entitled Community Pole.  It symbolizes, through the materials of wood, stone and rope, the collective integration of community dynamics.  The Westbank work of 2004 is carved from marble,  addressing the notion that history is a multi-cultural experience and a process deserving respect.
