Art & Social Change is an ongoing project that attempts to link artistic practice to community social issues. The project was launched as a manned installation kiosk in the Driftwood Mall, Courtenay BC, for Valentine's Day 2005. The kiosk was designed to raise awareness of the needs of the Comox Valley Food Bank and used Valentine's Day as an occasion to extend the concept of love to the everyday issues of a local community. The project will be ongoing, partnering all future artistic activity with community needs. Aspects of the project were continued in 2008 and 2009. Aesthetic creation can no longer be separated from social conscience.
